Why we built this

Hey — I built Cadence because I type for a living, and I'd never found a keyboard I actually wanted to keep on my desk. The polished ones felt like office equipment. The interesting ones felt designed for someone else's desk. I wanted something in between — quieter, made with care, the kind of tool you don't notice until you sit down somewhere else and miss it.

It's been my daily driver through every writing session and late-night build for the past year. I hope it might become yours, too.

There are a few more ideas I want to bring to Cadence that I haven't seen in other keyboards. If you have some of your own, just let me know.

Simple in the best way. Fast, intentional, and built for focus. Already a joy to use, looking forward to the end product.

Quietly the best keyboard I've owned. Tactile without being loud, weighty without being heavy, finished in a way most boards aren't. I find myself typing more deliberately — and writing better for it.

It just feels considered. The sound is warm, the case has heft, the spacing makes sense. I've been waiting for someone to make this for years.

    Jonas Weber

  • "

The longer I use it, the more I appreciate it. Not because it demands attention, but because it quietly removes friction. That's become surprisingly hard to replace.

I've owned enough keyboards to know when something is genuinely different. This isn't about specs. It simply feels right every time I sit down to type.

Got questions?

What does joining the waitlist actually do?

Nothing automatic. You'll get a single email when Cadence is ready to order, and an early window to claim your unit before general availability. No payment, no commitment, and nothing in your inbox in between.

When will Cadence ship?

We're planning to open the first batch in late 2026. Production happens in small runs to keep quality consistent, and we'll send one clear update once components are confirmed and a firm date is set.

What is a 65% layout?

Sixty-five percent means roughly 67 keys: arrow keys kept, function row and navigation cluster removed, no numpad. It's the layout that takes the smallest desk footprint without making you learn new shortcuts.

Who's behind Cadence?

A small two-person studio. We've spent the past year prototyping, sound-testing, and refining the build. Cadence is the keyboard we wanted on our own desks — it's also the one we're proud to put into the world.
