Refund and Returns Policy

Introduction

This policy explains how refunds and returns work for Cadence. We're currently in pre-launch and not yet accepting orders, so this document outlines the terms that will apply when the first batch opens.

Return window

You may request a return within 30 days of delivery. After 30 days, we are unable to offer a refund.

Condition of returned products

Returned keyboards must be:

  • In their original packaging

  • In as-new condition, with no scratches, marks, or visible wear

  • Complete — including all keycaps, cables, switches, and accessories that shipped with the keyboard

Light use is fine; we expect you'll want to try it. Excessive wear, missing components, or modifications may reduce your refund or make the return ineligible.

How to request a return

Email us at hello@cadence.studio with your order number and a short note about why you'd like to return. We'll reply within two business days with return instructions and a shipping address. Please don't ship the keyboard back before you hear from us — returns sent without instructions can be delayed or lost.

Refund timing

Once we receive and inspect the returned keyboard, we'll process your refund within five business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Depending on your bank, the funds may take an additional three to ten days to appear.

Custom and configured items

If your Cadence ships with a custom switch and keycap combination chosen at order time, it remains returnable under the standard window, provided the keyboard is in as-new condition. Heavily customized or modified units — replaced PCBs, soldered switches, third-party keycaps installed — are not eligible for a standard return.

Damaged or defective items

If your keyboard arrives damaged or develops a fault within the warranty period, please contact us right away. These are handled separately under our warranty, not as a return.

Return shipping

If you're returning a keyboard because you've changed your mind, you're responsible for return shipping. If we shipped the wrong item or the keyboard is defective, we'll cover the return shipping ourselves.

Warranty

Cadence is covered by a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects on the PCB, case, and switches. Warranty repairs and replacements are handled outside of this returns policy. Full warranty details will be published when orders open.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as we approach launch and refine our operations. The most current version will always be posted here, with the updated date noted above.
